Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and grease baking sheet (or line with parchment paper)
Measure out all ingredients
Sift the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder into a large mixing bowl
Using a knife, slice the cold butter into 1/2 inch cubes
Scatter the cubed butter across the dry ingredients. Using a fork, pastry blender or your hands, *cut * the butter into dry ingredients. Continue until the mixture looks like cornmeal. Combine the butter, eggs, and milk. Mix well.
Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until the ingredients are combined and forms a soft dough.
Lightly knead the dough.
Flatten dough to 1/2 inch thick.
Using a cookie cutter, cut into squares.
Place on greased sheet pans.
Egg wash tops.
Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes.
While scones are baking, zest 1 medium size lemon
Whisk powdered sugar, lemon juice and Grand Marnier until smooth to create your glaze. Your consistency should be thick, but pourable. If glaze is too runny, add more powdered sugar a tsp at a time until you reach your desired consistency.If glaze is too thick, add more lemon juice a 0.5 tsp at a time until you reach your desired consistency. Whisk lemon zest into glaze.
